Located in Oakville Ontario, the studio offers a complete performing arts experience for students from 9-18. SUMMER CAMPS 2012!

SOUND OF MUSIC
July 23-27th
Ages Range 8-11
The fun and upbeat and challenging camp will immerse students in the beloved production of the Sound of Music. Students will learn several songs with scene work and choreography ending in a show on the last day of camp. We will focus on building individual skills in singing and dance while learning to work in an ensemble. We will use props and costumes and learn proper stage blocking and performance technique for the stage. Family and friends are invited to come to and see our performance on the last day of camp. 13 THE MUSICAL
August 6th-10th
Age Range 11-14
The is an intensive and challenging camp for students who love musical theater. Students will learn pieces from the fantastic score of this hip young musical by Jason Robert Brown. They will do scene work and learn choreography to produce a show by the end of the week. Students will work on solo and ensemble singing, scene work, performance practice and blocking for the stage. We will push them to build their skills as performers and will work with props, small set pieces and costumes for our performance. Family and friends are invited to come and watch our final performance on the last day of the camp. Summer Camp Registration forms can be downloaded from the registration page.

Both camps will run from 11:00am - 5:00pm each day with a longer rehearsal on the Thursday to prepare for the performance on the Friday.

NEW CAMP!

THE POP ROCK VOCALIST WORKSHOP
August 13-17

Renowned multi instrumentalist and performer, Sheldon De Souza, is joining the Stage It team and will be offering an exciting new program in the fall and a summer workshop. This camp is for up and coming pop rock, country, folk, rap or other performers who want to perform in a band or as a lead singer in a band or a singer songwriter and are interested in the tricks of the trade. Students who play guitar, piano bass drums, and want to channel their inner super star on stage learning to write, record, produce and perform.

ACTING FOR STAGE AND SCREEN 1
Ages 9-13
We are excited to offer new programs in acting this year. This class is designed for students
who have some performance experience but want to learn more about acting. Students will look at theater exercises in improvisation, character development, comedic timing. They will also learn how to read and work with a script, understand stage directions and other terminology for stage and screen. Students will learn basic audition techniques, physical movement for film and theater and much more. Students in this class will perform on stage in all of the studios concerts and depending upon the level and experience of the students may be given the opportunity to perform in an Ontario festival in drama.
No audition is required for this class.

ACTING FOR STAGE AND SCREEN 2
Ages 14-17
This class is designed for students with stage, television or film experience and want to take their skills to the next level. Students will tackle challenging script work and complex character roles for stage. Students will learn advanced audition techniques for television and film and will work at putting together an original piece they will work on for stage, or film to perform or to be screened for an audience at one of the studio’s concerts. Students in this class will compete at an Ontario festival in Drama with a short one act play or scenes.
